Grind, Crash, Burn

Are you ready for a really ambiguous email because of lack of time? And a huge desire for emails from you? Here we go.

Monday: splits with Leland, super fun, great guy, played piano, sung a bit, emailed at the church
Tuesday: more splits, not so much happened, talked to a girl from Thailand, found a member of another church that we testified to, talked to a guy who seemed really interested, after we asked him if we could talk more he straight up just walked away
Wednesday: choir, a great meeting with Ella (a member), met with the Jehovahs Witnesses - they tried to Bible bash with us, we kept just bringing the spirit in, we asked to pray with them and they got really uncomfortable, that was pretty interesting
Thursday: meeting with a member, she told us to bring a message to help her reactivate her son, well turns out she didn't tell her son we were coming and so it got realllllllyyyyy awkward. But he committed to come to church, and her daughter also showed up, and we committed them and her boyfriend to come. Good stuff.
Friday: burnt by a member, that was fun. Had a really trashy district meeting because it was over Skype and the connection was terrible.
Saturday: we went to the kommune got me to become a legal person here, went finding, no one would talk to us. (I'm pretty sure I could count on one hand the amount of people that have actually said more than "nej tak", maybe 6 people actually talked to us this week :) but it was chill, just gotta do the work sometimes.
Sunday: same thing, really interesting, awkward, contentious day in priesthood meeting. Just a big mess. One person basically interrupted another person, and he said that we shouldn't look into other religions because we have the truth but one guy said that we can learn a lot from others - which you definitely can learn a ton from others. But yeah, got a little heated. But the members son, daughter and boyfriend came to church, so that was really good. We had a potluck after and of course, being missionaries, we got all the leftovers. Oh, and I got into a crash. (guess you'll have to email me to find out more :)
Monday: I don't have time today because we are on a bus currently to fårup. There's a bunch of kids that are loud and yelling on here and I'm starting to get a headache and die of heat as we speak(I'm pretty sure it's a fire hazard how many kids are in here) . But we are headed to an amusement park so I am stoked. I'll send some pictures :)

Words of Unworldy Things: I've finished the four Gospels and have now moved on to Acts. I really am enjoying Acts so far, because it makes a lot of sense for us as missionaries. I've realized there are a few steps that we can do to become better missionaries:
1. Always preach repentance. It doesn't have to be your typical repentance that everyone thinks of, but encourage others to improve themselves. Create an environment where people feel comfortable telling you things, but feel desire and pressure to continue working on their own shortcomings.
2. Always preach about Christ. Bring others always to come unto Christ. Even if there is a threat of jail or even death or if they will hate you forever, preach of Christ. His peace, promises, and power can save everyone from the depths of despair. And that message is worth sharing.
3. The gift of tongues is real. I've seen it. I've seen multiple times where I begin talking to people with boldness and the Spirit is their guiding me what to say. Somehow, someway I know what I'm saying and they can understand me. Somehow, someway, I can understand their responses. It's amazing. But I've realized with this gift, it's a gift we must pray for. We can't simply passively expect it. We must ask for it. That goes with anything else. We must ask.
These are what I've seen as a missionary, but that doesn't mean it's only for missionaries. It's powerful when members follow these 3 things to. As I've seen this week, member missionary work has been fantastic. The member had desire to share the gospel, to help her son repent (maybe it would've been a good idea for her to tell her son that we were coming, but it worked out in the end), and I know without a doubt that she asked for it. She asked us, the Lord's servants, and I'm sure she asked the Lord.

I know that if we follow these steps, that our missionary work, as a member or a missionary in the field, we will be blessed with miracles.

I love you all and I hope you have had a fantastic week. I hope you'll have a fantastic week this week too. Let me know how your week is going!

Challenge: try sharing with others what brings you joy in life.
Word of the Week: afgørende - conclusive, positive, crucial, decisive, vitally, pivotal, decisively
Scripture: Acts 4:29 - "And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word"
Pictures: I will send them after Fårup
